Front Cover

This is my Final product .. The front cover... Overall i feel it has been very successful. i chose to use this photo of my friend beacuse it gives off a summer feel, and think its promotes festivals very well, she is posed natrally and i think respresents freedom and 'no worrys'. iI edited the colours to make it look as if the sun was shining down on her. I Decided to stick to a monochrome design on my front cover using just 3 colours, black, white and the golden yellow of the photo. i tihnk this makes it look more structured and professional. The masthead on my front cover i think stands out because although it is not etremely bold i decieded to make a contrast between the colours so it woulod stand out effectively, and i feel using white on top of black makes it stand out.  underneath i have wrote a simple statement ' the world's biggest dance music magazine' when readers see this they will know that what they are going to buy is liked my many people and informs them exactly what the magazine is about and straight away they will know if the magazine is for them or not.
The subheadings font is also white, but is alot smaller, i also added a glow around the fonts so they stood out more. The subheadings i used were.. 'Bringing back rave', 'be a festival pro' and 'methedrone the truth'. i choose to these because i felt this would make my audience want to buy the magazine and read on. As the magazine is aimed at the people who like to rave, just that subheading 'Bringing back rave' alone would automatically persuade the audience to buy the magazine. The next subheading 'Be a pestival pro' i felt was a good subheading to put is mainly because for my critera i decided to base my magazine on festivals as it is the summer issue. hopefully readers would read this and want to be a 'festival pro' the aim is to make them feel if they don't read on they will be missing out, and feel not involved, whereas if they bought the magazine and read about being a festival pro, they would be with the in crowd and their knowledge on festivals would be above the rest. Lastly the subheading 'Methedrone the truth' i thought this was crutial to mention on my magazine as i felt the drug itself 'methedrone' has popped up in the media alot recently where we all are being told it's a killer drug. i also knew the drug was especially used at raves and was extremely popular within the rave scene. so i felt that the 'rave crowd' should need to know the truth about the drug they may be offered at raves, or may have already taken.
I have used the famous logo 'Dont stay in' on the front of my amagzine this well known within the clubbing scene and i feel that these logo would also catch people's attention, especially because they can relate to the saying - 'Don't stay in'.
